TJ Caldwell, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Mansfield (Texas) Waxahachie Faith Family has committed to Ole Miss basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Caldwell is the Rebels’ third commitment of the class, following Nick Krass and Robert Cowherd. Ole Miss is also targeting Kimani Hamilton, Jalen Reed, Malique Ewin, among others.

Caldwell chose the Ole Miss Rebels over Oklahoma, West Virginia, TCU, Mississippi State, USC, Arizona State, and Maryland.

In the On3 100 rankings, Caldwell is the no. 88 overall prospect in the 2022 class.

TJ Caldwell on why he chose Ole Miss

“What made me choose Ole Miss is the strong relationship I have built with all of the coaches on the staff,” Caldwell said. “The team made me feel as if I was one of the players on my visit. The SEC is one of the best conferences in college basketball where some of the best guards have come out of. I think competing with the best and proving I am one of them puts me in the best position to where I want to go. Coach Kermit (Davis) has shown me a plan so I can be the best I can be. All the coaches believe I could be one of the best. It felt like the place to be.”
