The recruitment of five-star quarterback Arch Manning has been a big topic of discussion across college football this season. Manning is the No. 1 overall recruit in the On300 rankings for the class of 2023. Among the many schools recruiting Manning is Ole Miss.

Late on Thursday night, a video surfaced on Twitter of Manning responding to a question of whether or not he was coming to Ole Miss.

“Right. Hotty Toddy,” Manning responded.

Another interesting aspect of the video is the fact that Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin retweeted it. Kiffin recently attended Manning play in a high school game for Isidore Newman High School , and the young quarterback has visited Ole Miss previously.

While that video is not any sort of commitment, it will likely ramp up discussions on where Manning will elect to play college football. Among the many schools fighting for Manning’s services in addition to Ole Miss are Texas, Georgia, Clemson, LSU and Alabama.

Ole Miss could be a serious suitor for Manning

While the battle for Manning is obviously highly contested, his recruitment is still wide open. According to On3’s Director of Recruiting, Georgia might be the favorite at this point. But the Rebels have made a leap in the race for Manning. On the season, Manning has thrown for 1,675 yards and 24 touchdowns. He and Isidore Newman play in the semifinals of the Division III Louisiana playoffs at 8 p.m. ET Friday night.

“I am hearing a lot about Georgia, too, though,” Simmons wrote. “Even more about Georgia in recent weeks than I am about Texas. Ole Miss is another school that may be higher on the list than some thought just a month ago. Alabama is still very much in this, too. Clemson looks to be down the list some based on one source close to this.”

Manning’s uncle, Eli Manning, played his college football for the Rebels, furthering the connection to the program. Eli Manning had his jersey retired by Ole Miss recently, and Arch attended that game.

Manning still has plenty of time left in his recruitment in the 2023 cycle. But as speculation continues to circle, Thursday’s video will ramp up some conversations in the sports world.
