Less than 24 hours after a drubbing at the hands of Utah in the Pac-12 title game, Oregon coach Mario Cristobal paid a visit to Bishop Gorman (Nev.) EDGE Cyrus Moss.

Moss is the No. 83 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 8 EDGE and the No. 2 prospect in Nevada.

Cristobal was joined by linebackers coach Ken Wilson, defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter, and defensive line coach Joe Salave’a. The Ducks game Friday night was at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, making for a short trip to see on their priority targets.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Moss named as his final three of Alabama, Arizona State and Oregon a couple of weeks ago. But the hiring of Lincoln Riley at USC could be a game-changer. Moss told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons that he plans to visit the Trojans Dec. 11 and that they are “in the mix.” The Crimson Tide look to be out, so it’ll be a Pac-12 battle for Moss’ eventual commitment.

That weekend before the early signing period was the weekend Moss was thinking of visiting Alabama. The Crimson Tide may not have been recruiting Moss quite as hard as the Ducks and Sun Devils, so with the Trojans making him a priority, this is no surprise.

Oregon, meanwhile, is in the midst of a reported bidding war with Miami for Cristobal’s services. The Hurricanes are pursuing Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich, who would potentially looking to bring Cristobal, who played for Miami in the 1990s, back to Coral Gables.

Cyrus Moss likely to announce at All-American game

Moss is still undecided on exactly when he will reveal his decision. It could be December 15, the day he signs. Or he could sign, then hold off his announcement until the Adidas All-America Bowl January 8.

That will be decided in the coming weeks. As will his decision. Moss said this a couple of weeks ago when he trimmed his list to three.

“In the end, Moss said, “I will go off feeling more than anything.”
