Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux may have been out for today’s upset victory over Ohio State, but he was available for the post-game banter. After the 12th-ranked Ducks took down the third-ranked Buckeyes on the road, Thibodeaux took to Twitter to call out all the naysayers.

Coming into the game

The Ducks entered the game as 14.5 underdogs according to Pro Football Focus. Oregon has played Ohio State nine times before today’s game and has lost every time. This biggest loss came well before Thibodeaux arrived on campus. In 2015, the Buckeyes beat the Ducks in the first-ever College Football Playoffs Championship 42-20. That was the last time they played before Saturday’s game.

All of that previous history did not matter as this year’s Ohio State defense struggled mightily to stop Oregon’s Offense. The Ducks had 505 yards of total offense and 269 yards of that was on the ground. Running back CJ Verdell had himself a day rushing for 161 yards on 20 touches and two touchdowns. But the key stat for the Ducks was they committed zero turnovers.

On defense, the Ducks did bend a little but did not break without their star linebacker in Thibodeaux. They were also without last weeks leading tackler Justin Flowe. But even without those two, the Ducks held Ohio State to just 128 yards rushing. The Buckeyes did pass for 484 yards but were forced into throwing a late-game interception, which was ultimately the game-sealing play. Not only that but the Ducks defense held up on fourth downs holding Ohio State to just two of five for the game.

Thibodeaux had a lot to say

That was not the start of Thibodeaux’s post-game celebrations. Right after the game, heading to the locker room he shared a moment with the FOX cameras.

“FOX, yall saw it. We coming, we here, we here. come on man,” Thibodeaux enthusiastically said looking in the camera.

The Ducks have plenty to be happy about in this win. For the Pac 12, this is the first win over a non-conference top-ten ranked team since 2007. For Oregon, it announces to the rest of the college football world that they are indeed a threat this year.

They are a team with a formidable defense and an offense that knows how to take care of the ball. If the rest of the college football world didn’t know before they definitely know that the Oregon Ducks and Kayvon Thibodeaux are here.
