LOOK: Justin Herbert appears to have added significant muscle ahead of 2022 season
Los Angeles Chargers and former Oregon Duck quarterback Justin Herbert is heading into year three of his NFL career with a noticeable transformation. A recent post from NFL reporter Dov Kleiman shows the Chargers quarterback has packed on the bulk this offseason. Herbert appears to have added significant muscle ahead of the 2022 season in preparation to compete for the loaded AFC West crown.
Last season the Chargers were just seconds away from a playoff berth in the final game of the season against hated rival, the Las Vegas Raiders. However, after a few questionable calls by head coach Brandon Staley, Los Angeles fell in overtime 35-32. Now, heading into this season, the Chargers are a trendy pick to end the Kansas City Chiefs’ reign over the division. And this beefier version of Herbert looks to lead the Chargers on that quest.
Last year, Herbert avoided the dreaded sophomore slump and balled out for Los Angeles. He finished the season with 5,014 yards passing, 38 touchdowns, a QBR of 65.6, according to ESPN’s metrics, and 15 interceptions. Herbert’s passing yards, touchdowns, and QBR ranked him top three in each testicle category.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound precise route runner made an official visit to Oregon over the weekend before announcing his flip on social media. Cozart told On3 why he made the flip to the Ducks.
“I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and always had a love for Oregon,” Cozart told On3 Sunday. And it feels like home. Coach Junior Adams is an amazing receiver coach and could develop me to be a future NFL WR. Coach Lanning and the whole staff is full of amazing young coaches who I can relate to with the newer generation of football. My whole personality just fits the West Coast, and i feel like I’ve made the best decision for myself and my future as a student athlete.”
Cozart initially committed to Oklahoma on February 4, 2022. Cozard is a native of the state of Washington who moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area prior to his sophomore year. He had originally planned to commit to the Sooners the day Lincoln Riley left for USC.
