Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor is taking an official visit to Oregon on the weekend of Jan. 28. According to On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, the Ducks are gaining some ground in his recruitment.

“There is a little bit of buzz around Oregon with their track and football combination,” Simmons said on The Inside Scoop, On3’s recruiting show. “Obviously, Nike, the brand is big there for Nyck… in both sports as well.”

Harbor told On3’s Joseph Hastings at the Under Armour All-America Game that he is considering Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, South Carolina and USC. The Gamecocks, Terrapins and Wolverines received officials from the five-star in the fall.

Simmons shared that it is unknown whether the 6-foot-5, 225-pound recruit takes any unofficial visits in the coming weeks. He is announcing his commitment on Feb. 1.

“I talked to a source close to Nick just a couple of days ago and we’ve talked about the possibility of unofficial visits back to Michigan, back to South Carolina, of course Maryland’s right around, within 30 minutes of his home,” Simmons said. “He can easily get there. But the source said nothing’s planned right now outside of the Oregon official visit at the end of the month.”

Harbor is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 1 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Washington D.C.

Nyckoles Harbor On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Nyckoles Harbor:

“Has the best combination of size and speed we’ve seen from a young prospect as a national-level sprinter at 6-foot-5 and over 230 pounds. Runs under 10.4 seconds in the 100 meters with the size and length of a premier pass rushing prospect. Plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school, but has developed into more of an EDGE prospect as a junior.

“Shows his considerable athleticism as a pass rusher with high end closing speed. Is also able to locate and track the ball as a tight end. Still unrefined technically as a pass rusher. Productive against sub-par competition.”
