Oregon offers Memphis On3 4-star LB commit Arion Carter

Smyrna (Tenn.) four-star linebacker and Memphis commit Arion Carter received an offer from Oregon on Wednesday afternoon. He announced the news on social media.

Carter is the No. 1,178 overall prospect and No. 106 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in Tennessee.

On3 rates Carter higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he isn’t in the 2023 On300, Carter is the No. 27 linebacker and No. 7 player in Tennessee.

Within the last week, Carter has received offers from AuburnAlabamaKentuckyLSUMichigan, Oregon, Tennessee and USC. He committed to Memphis on July 20.

“As of now, I’m still very committed to Memphis,” Carter told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I think I’m just exploring my options and seeing what every other school has to offer. Overall in the end, I’m going to find the school that is really home to me and will give me the best opportunity on and off the field in the long run.”

The Ducks’ 2023 class ranks No. 11 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Pac-12. It contains 18 commitments.

Carter has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
