Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker three-star wide receiver Omari Evans committed to Penn State on Saturday.

Evans is the 26th commit in Penn State’s class, which is considered by some to be the best in the country.

Evans had previously announced a top seven of Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Indiana, Penn State, Rutgers and Vanderbilt.

Omari Evans is another win for White Out recruiting

Omari Evans was one of many recruits in Happy Valley for Penn State’s win over Auburn in the White Out game.

The annual game is always a recruiting boon for the Nittany Lions, and this year is shaping up to be no different.

Bridgeville (Pa.) Chartiers Valley consensus three-star Lamont Payne was the first win for the 2021 White Out game when he committed to Penn State on the field.

And the “wins” have kept on coming in the following weeks, including the decommitment of four-star safety Larry Turner-Gooden and now Omari Evans’ commitment.

Penn State has one of the best recruiting classes in the country

Penn State’s recruiting class is regarded by some as the best in the country, despite the lack of five-star recruits.

Four-star quarterback Drew Allar is the closest to five-star status as the highest four-star recruit in the country at No. 21.

He leads the class, and the 10 other Penn State recruits in the On300.

Omari Evans joins a group of strong offensive skill position players, including Reading (Pa.) Governor Mifflin running back Nichalas Singleton, Westerville (Ohio) Westerville South wide receiver Kaden Sanders and Lancaser (Pa.) Manheim Township wide receiver Anthony Ivey.

All three are in the On300 with Singleton this highest-ranked at No. 24.

The strength of the class is something that is acknowledged by the commits in the class.

“We’re trying to raise the standard at Penn State,” Miller told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “They’ve struggled for some years. We’re just to improve things. The ultimate goal is to win a national championship at Penn State.”
