Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon is taking an official visit to South Carolina from June 2-4. He announced the news Friday over Twitter.
Solomon is the No. 219 overall prospect and No. 9 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 30 player in Georgia.
Solomon included the Gamecocks among his top 11 schools. He last visited Columbia on April 15.
At the moment, South Carolina’s 2024 recruiting class is No. 6 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 4 in the SEC. The Gamecocks’ group is led by a pair of top-100 prospects in Dillon (S.C.) four-star offensive tackle Josiah Thompson and Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland four-star offensive tackle Kam Pringle.
“He can really see into the future with what he could do with us and what we can accomplish together,” Thompson told On3’s Chad Simmons about head coach Shane Beamer. “He knows what we can accomplish together if we’re playing together as a team to win more titles. He’s building something great in this class.”

This spring, Solomon has been to multiple programs on unofficial visits. One of them is Florida, who is making a big impact in his recruitment. The Georgia native was most recently in Gainesville on March 25.
“I feel like they’re recruiting me the hardest,” Solomon told Keith Niebuhr of Gators Online about the Gators on May 11.
“I talk to them a lot, you know the receivers coach — coach (Billy Gonzales),” he added. “He loves me down there. He texts me almost every day of the week, just checking on me and seeing how the family is doing. So it’s a great connection down there.
“The coach, when we had a one-on-one talk, he talked about how he coached a lot of NFL receivers. He told me a lot about that. He told me what they do at practice. Outside of what he does with his team at Florida, he said he loves to invite his team over to eat with his family. I enjoyed having that talk with him.”
