Report: 4-star TE Walker Lyons out for season with broken leg
Stanford commit and Folsom (Calif.) four-star tight end Walker Lyons will miss the remainder of his senior season with a broken leg, according to a report from the Sacramento Bee.
ScoreBook Live reports Lyons had surgery Friday night.
Lyons is the No. 96 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Phoenix Pinnacle five-star tight end Duce Robinson, Portland (Ore.) IMG Academy four-star tight end Riley Williams, Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star tight end Ethan Davis and Santa Rosa Beach (Fla.) South Walton four-star tight end Pearce Spurlin are the four tight ends ranked ahead of Lyons in the rankings.
Davis is also out for his senior season with a torn labrum. He announced the news earlier this week.
Lyons was a major commitment for the 2023 Cardinal recruiting class, which ranks 20th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking. He is the highest-rated recruit in the class.
The No. 2-ranked recruit is also a tight end, Haslet (Texas) Eaton four-star tight end Jaden Platt.
Lyons currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $122k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
