TCU lost its only two offensive line recruits in the 2022 class within minutes of each other Sunday.

Choctaw (Okla.) three-star offensive lineman Cade McConnell tweeted at 4:25 p.m. CT that he is decommitting from the Horned Frogs. Three minutes later, Fort Worth (Texas) Everman three-star offensive lineman Seth Martin said the same thing.

“A lot of people have been wondering about my recruitment and future following the coaching changes at TCU. Although I’ve been loyal since February it’s hard to stay on the wagon without a driver,” McConnell said. “After talks with my family, I have decided it is in my best interest as an athlete to de-commit from TCU and re-open my recruitment.”

McConnell is the No. 613 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

The On3 Consensus has Martin as the No. 965 overall player in the country.

“Thank you to the entire TCU coaching staff for providing me with an opportunity,” Martin said. “That being said, I will be decommitting from TCU. My recruitment is now 100% open.”

There are now six players to decommit from the Horned Frogs since Gary Patterson left the program. The other four players were Gladewater (Texas) four-star wide receiver DJ Allen, Houston Klein Cain four-star wide receiver Matthew Golden, West Monroe (La.) three-star safety Ja’dais Richard and Saraland (Ala.) three-star defensive lineman Trevon McAlpine.

The Horned Frogs class now has just five commits.

They entered the day with the No. 56 recruiting class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking and now have the No. 64 class.
