5-star QB Nico Iamaleava visiting Tennessee this weekend
Long Beach (Calif.) Downey five-star quarterback and Tennessee commit Nico Iamaleava will be making his first visit to Knoxville, Tenn., this Saturday for the Volunteers’ game against Florida.
In addition to hosting one of the most anticipated games on the schedule this week, Tennessee is also welcoming ESPN’s College Gameday to campus that morning.
Iamaleava is the crown jewel of the 2023 Volunteers recruiting class, which ranks 13th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
Tennessee has some major targets schedule to visit Rocky Top on official visits this weekend. The list includes Ridgeland (Miss.) four-star wideout and Ole Miss commit Ayden Williams; Gainesville (Fla.) F. W. Buchholz four-star wide receiver Jaren Hamilton; and Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson defensive lineman and newly minted On3 five-star recruit Daevin Hobbs.
The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Iamaleava as the No. 7 recruit in the 2023 cycle.
Iamaleava is ranked higher by On3, which slots him in as the No. 2 player in the country behind only New Orleans Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning.
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $1.1 million. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
