Springfield (Ohio) four-star cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. took an unofficial visit to Tennessee this weekend. It marked his latest spring visit as he saw Michigan on March 19 and will travel to Notre Dame (April 1), Ohio State (April 3), Pittsburgh (April 13), Penn State (April 14) and Oregon (April 27).

Scott Jr. is the No. 43 overall prospect and No. 4 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Ohio.

On3 rates Scott Jr. higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 11 overall prospect, No. 2 cornerback and No. 1 player in Ohio.

The 5-foot-11.5, 165-pound defensive back holds 31 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ohio State has a commanding lead for his commitment at 92.8%.

“If I believe you can develop me, that’s the first reason,” Scott told On3’s Chad Simmons on Jan. 18 about what he looks for in a program. “The second reason will be how many people you (have) in front of me. I really don’t care, wherever I go, I have to work for the position either way, senior or not, a freshman trying to come in… and start. So the playing time matters, but not really that much cause I’m gonna work for (it) regardless. So really the development, seeing how the coaches coach the players and then the defense. I like (playing) man (coverage). I split out, play a lot of man.”

The Wolverines are one of the programs recruiting Scott hard. He is one of Michigan’s top targets this cycle, especially as the program continues to find success in landing top players from Ohio.

“That’s been a big part in me talking to them because of their defense,” Scott told Zach Libby of The Wolverine on March 25. “I can play off-man but they mostly play man. That plays a big role because that’s the defense my high school runs right now. (Steve Clinkscale) has said that I’m the best man (coverage) corner that he’s ever recruited or in my class.”
