Franklin (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy wide receiver Nate Spillman has committed to Tennessee, he announced Sunday on Twitter.

Spillman chose the Volunteers over offers from Arkansas State and Marshall, as well as interest from a handful of other programs.

“First of all, I thank God for blessing me and giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love at the highest level,” Spillman wrote. “Nothing would be possible without him. I also want to thank my family for being a constant support system. Thank you to Coach Dilfer, the Lipscomb coaching staff, and all my Lipscomb teammates for pushing me every day to be the best player I can be. Coach T Barr, thank you for your help with the recruitment process. I have made the decision to continue my academic and football career at the University of Tennessee!”

As a junior last season at Lipscomb, Nate Spillman caught 22 passes for 348 yards and five touchdowns. He is the Volunteers’ fourth commitment in the 2023 class, joining four-star tight end Ethan Davis, offensive lineman Ayden Bussell and safety Jack Luttrell. Tennessee currently ranks No. 12 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
