Charlotte (N.C.) Providence running back Jamar Price has accepted a preferred walk-on role at Tennessee.

“I’m proud to say that I will be committing to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on a PWO to further my academic and athletic career,” Price tweeted Wednesday.

Price had been originally been committed to Air Force at the start of July. However, he decommitted from the school in January due to a medical condition.

“It would have been an honor to be a part of something that is bigger than me. Unfortunately, my eczema disqualifies me from (attending) the Air Force Academy,” he said in a statement at the time.

He is not ranked in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He had 140 carries for 1,450 yards as a senior.

Dallas (Ga.) East Paulding four-star running back Justin Williams and Geismar (La.) Dutchtown four-star running back Dylan Sampson are the two tailback commits in the Volunteers recruiting class, which ranks 16th in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
