On3 four-star recruit Cameron Carr has committed to Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4 wing out of Branson (Mo.) Link Academy has flown under the radar for the majority of his high school career. But over the last couple of months, his recruitment has skyrocketted. Kansas State was the Manhattan native’s only high major offer until September. Since then, Virginia, Northwestern, K-State and the Vols entered the mix and ended up each hosting Carr on official visits.

Carr ultimately decided on Tennessee, joining the likes of four-star guard Freddie Dilione (No. 56), four-star big man JP Estrella (No. 36), and three-star Cade Phillips (No. 147).

Cameron Carr ranks as the No. 141 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s evaulators are much higher on him, ranking him 112th nationally in the class.

Carr on his commitment to Tennessee

“I chose Tennessee for the overall experience, the coaching staff and all the people involved with basketball and helping me become better as a player and a better man,” Carr said to On3.

What type of player is Tennesssee getting in Cameron Carr, in his own words?

“They are getting someone who is going to give there all every day and a winner,” he says.

Carr has a message for Tennessee fans.

“I’m here to win, for real.”

Scouting Summary

Cam Carr is a late blooming guard prospect with a thin frame and 7-foot-0 wing span. He has some ball skills and is smooth with his handle. As he continues to get stronger he should gain more pop. Carr is a good athlete, able to take off after attacking closeouts. Carr transferred from Manhattan (KS) High to Branson (MO) Link Academy. He has grown from 6-1/6-2 to 6-4 or so and he may not be done. The guard has a smooth jump shot with consistent form and a repeatable release. Strength will help his balance off movement and in game, he shot 94.4% from the FT line during EYBL play. Carr’s dad, Chris Carr, played 6 years in the NBA. He is currently a college coach. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
