Dripping Springs (Texas) four-star quarterback and Baylor commit Austin Novosad has officially landed in College Station, Texas, for an unofficial visit to Texas A&M.

Novosad told AggieScoop his goal for the visit is to “just getting to talk some football with coach Dickey and Coach Fisher.”

He isn’t the only highly-regarded quarterback visiting Texas A&M this weekend as USC commit and Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson.

Novosad is down to four schools — Baylor, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Ohio State. He visited the Fighting Irish earlier this week and will be at Baylor on Sunday.

On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman reports Novosad hopes to make up his mind next month.

Austin Novosad is a top-10 QB in the 2023 cycle

Austin Novosad is the No. 140 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $124k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power gave Novosad the best mechanics superlative at the 2022 Elite 11 camp.

“It was apparent Austin Novosad was one of the more mechanically sound passers as early as the first workout,” Power wrote. “Novosad is a clean, pure thrower. There was very little variance in his throws. The ball came out of his hand cleanly all three days. The Dripping Springs (Texas) High passer threw arguably the tightest spiral of the group. Others may be more powerful or twitchy at this stage, but Novosad looked like a pure, natural passer.”
