Converse (Texas) Judson defensive lineman Johnny Bowens has committed to Texas A&M, he announced on Christmas Day.

Bowens is the No. 213 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 23 defensive lineman and the No. 34 prospect in the state of Texas for the 2023 cycle.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pounder chose the Aggies over offers from Texas, Baylor, Houston, Louisiana Tech and others. Bowens is the Aggies’ fourth commitment in the 2023 class, joining four-stars Eli Holstein, Anthony James, and Colton Thomasson.

As a junior this past season at Judson, Bowens notched 36 tackles, including six for loss, as well as 11 quarterback hurries and two sacks.
