Georiga’s first commit in the class of 2022 Kennesaw (Ga.) Marquis Groves-Killebrew is the last to jump ship as the class crosses the finish line.

Groves-Killebrew will not end up as a member of Georgia’s 2022 class. He will instead be heading to College Station to join the surging Texas A&M class.

Groves-Killebrew committed to Georgia back on May 27, 2020. He is the No. 104 overall prospect in the class of 2022 according to the On3 Consensus rankings.

Georgia has landed multiple defensive backs since Groves-Killebrew committed two years ago. In fact, the last month has proven fruitful in the way of adding elite players to play in Kirby Smart’s secondary.

On Wednesday, the Bulldogs landed the commitment of On3 Consensus five-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy cornerback Daylen Everette.

Georgia is also expected to sign five-star commit Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside cornerback Jahiem Singletary later today.

Five-star Jefferson (Ga.) athlete Malaki Starks is committed. He expects to play safety. Four-stars Orlando (Fla.) Boone JaCorey Thomas and Houston (Texas) Clear Lake Julian Humphrey are also committed to the Bulldogs.

Georgia recently lost defensive coordinator Dan Lanning. He will become the next head coach at Oregon when the Bulldogs’ season ends.

Texas A&M becoming a Georgia pipeline

The Aggies have a former Georgia player and key recruiter on staff in defensive analyst Nick Williams.

Williams was on the Georgia staff when they first offered Groves-Killebrew. Williams was a key figure in flipping four-star athlete Deyon Bouie from Georgia to Texas A&M back in August.

Groves is the Aggies 23rd commitment in a class that entered the day ranked third in the 2022 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

They are now ranked No. 1.
