Beginning with a loss to Appalachian State and heading into the Miami game, Texas A&M had a rough week under head coach Jimbo Fisher.

Between losing at home, catching some flack on social media for their Midnight Yell tradition, and seeing four players get suspended — the Aggies desperately needed a win on Saturday. They accomplished that goal, kick-starting the season back in a positive direction.

Fisher was able to help his team get the win, even with four key players not seeing the field. All were true freshmen, with Smoke Bouie, Denver Harris, Chris Marshall, and Evan Stewart receiving pregame suspensions. Now, heading into the Arkansas matchup, it appears as if they will be back with the Texas A&M team.

When Fisher was asked if those four players would be available for Texas A&M this Saturday, he kept his answer short and sweet.

“Yes they will,” Fisher said during his Monday press conference.

All four of the players were members of Texas A&M’s historic 2022 recruited class, with three of them being five-star prospects. Bouie was the lowest rated of the bunch, being ranked No. 84 in the country. In total, 19 stars worth of players were suspended for Fisher on Saturday.

Now, they will all have an opportunity to make up for their past mistakes by performing well in a rivalry game against Arkansas. Texas A&M will travel up to Arlington to face the Razorbacks in AT&T Stadium and hope to continue the momentum.

Paul Finebaum assesses Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M after Miami win

Fisher took Paul Finebaum’s advice last week and bounced back from the upset loss to Appalachian State. Starting quarterback Max Johnson instead of Haynes King spurred the Aggies to a 17-9 victory over No. 13 Miami on Saturday.

After the win, Finebaum discussed the pulse in College Station following the win and the quarterback switch for Fisher’s squad. Next week, the Aggies must host the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks who boast a 3-0 record so far this season.

“I think you have to breathe easier but their schedule speaks for itself,” Finebaum said on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning. “(Fisher) had to win that game just to stop the bleeding, and the bleeding was profuse after the App State game. I think fans are naturally fired up. And they should be.
