Texas A&M saw another defender get ejected for targeting in the first quarter against Miami. First, it was Brian George, then it was Demani Richardson.

Richardson leveled a huge hit against Miami wide receiver Michael Redding III in the first quarter and, upon review, was ejected. It’s just the latest hit to the Texas A&M defense, which saw multiple players suspended for a violation of team rules earlier Saturday.

Richardson is looking to play a key role for the Aggies this year, and put up some decent numbers through two games. He has 11 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss so far this year, but he’ll miss the rest of the game against Miami after racking up three tackles in the first quarter.

George was ejected for targeting on the previous drive, meaning the Aggies are now down two more defenders for the rest of the game.

Texas A&M’s defense was doing work against Miami to start the game Saturday night. But then, the Aggies lost one of their defenders after a targeting penalty.

Brian George was ejected in the first quarter after a big hit on Miami running back Henry Parrish on the first play of the drive. Texas A&M had just scored a touchdown to take a 10-3 lead when the foul occurred.

It was George’s second appearance for the Aggies this season after seeing game action against Sam Houston State. In that game, he had one tackle and one pass defended.

Texas A&M is trying to bounce back from a rough loss to Appalachian State last week at Kyle Field. The Aggies were already shorthanded against Miami with multiple players out due to a violation of team rules.
