Arch Manning reveals his viral traffic stop was for running a red light at empty crosswalk

Arch Manning spent most of the week in concussion protocol, looking to get back in time to play against Vanderbilt. But a photo of him on social media went viral on Thursday, in his car, talking to a police officer. Not what you expect from a starting quarterback just days before a game.
Turns out, Manning ran a red light and got pulled over. He revealed as such when speaking to the media following a massive win at home for Texas. Just another wrinkle in what has become a list of unusual things to happen to Manning since arriving on the 40 Acres.
“Manning just told us that he was pulled over for running a red light at an empty crosswalk,” Evan Vieth of On3 | Rivals’ Inside Texas said via X. “That’ll get ya, Arch!”
This might fall in the same category as the viral story of the missing student ID. Manning wound up losing his on a couple of occasions, also making multiple rounds on social media. This one does technically involve the law, though. Whether or not Manning was assessed a ticket, we do not know.
Arch Manning clears concussion protocol, shines against Vanderbilt
Manning took the hit that caused his concussion in overtime of the Mississippi State game. His status immediately became a top storyline heading into Vanderbilt. Texas backup quarterback Matthew Caldwell took reps with the first team during practice and Sarkisian felt comfortable playing him if needed.

However, the Longhorns are thrilled Manning got to play. He arguably put together his top performance of the season, throwing for 328 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, while completing 25 of his 33 passes.
Steve Sarkisian continues to see growth out of Manning. These moments are coming at the biggest stage of the season too, needing wins in order to stay alive for the College Football Playoff. Texas players surrounding Manning putting together great performances only helps.
“I do think he’s grown up,” Sarkisian said. “He looks so much more mature. He looks so much more poised. He looks so much more confident. He’s got a lot more trust in those guys around him.”
Texas now enjoys a bye week, letting the rest of the country play in Week 11. Hopefully, Manning is a little more careful on the road and does not have another traffic violation. He will be needed in two week’s time down in Athens.
