Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson is one of the best backs in the country. Now, he’s opened up about finding his voice as a trash talker on the practice field.

“I think I’ve found my voice,” Bijan Robinson said. “I’ve been talking every day. Every day, especially to the defense. You know, I like to get the defense mad. You know, I like it when they start arguing at me because it just makes them better.”

One thing that Bijan Robinson wanted to do this offseason was to improve as a vocal leader. By talking and using his voice at practice, he can call out players who need to perform better. At the same time, he does so in a way where everyone stays on the same page and understands that it comes from a good place.

“It’s all fun. They know my intentions. I’m gonna get in their butt a little bit–even on the offense. I get J Whit (Jordan Whittington), X (Xavier Worthy), all them. They already know they’re really talented–you know, Isaiah (Isaiah Neyor)–but, I still, when they drop a ball, I’m the first one on them, every single time. Even if the defense drops a pick or something, I’m in their faces. Just because, you know, I feel like when I do it with them, you know, we’re competing anyway.”

“So, it’s just all fun and it makes them better. It makes them want to think about what they did and then erase it and then get better in the future. So, I like to talk a little bit, just in practice, just to get my guys riled up,” Bijan Robinson concluded.

While Bijan Robinson will talk trash to motivate his teammates, he says that he doesn’t talk on Saturdays. He feels with his teammates, it’s fun and the right environment to do it. His favorite to talk to are the Texas defensive linemen.

Bijan Robinson wants to take the next step in the offense

Bijan Robinson has been an elite running back for Texas. Now, he’s excited to take the next step in the Longhorns’ offense and get more involved in the passing game.

“If I have the opportunity to get in space against a linebacker or a safety or even a corner and it’s a great matchup, I would like to get the ball in my hands, make a mismatch,” said Bijan Robinson. “I feel when I get the ball in my hands against those kind of guys in space, that’s when the long plays happen, the touchdowns. So I think whatever opportunity I can have to make the team better, I’ll do it.”
