Bijan Robinson lights up over question about the size of the Texas offensive line

Bijan Robinson ran all over the Big 12 last year. In a sub-.500 debut season for head coach Steve Sarkisian, Robinson was by far the biggest bright spot for Texas. Their lone star, if you will. But as with most great running backs, they need a solid group of guys up front leading the way.

According to Robinson, that box is checked. At a recent press conference, one reporter joked with Robinson whether he could see over his offensive linemen since they take up so much space.

The superstar running back had a laugh at that question, but responded that yes he could see over them, even if they are humongous.

“Yeah, I can see over them. But them boys, they take up a lot of space. Just having them here now. I love it a lot. Even if I couldn’t see over them, I would just like to have those guys in front of me, just because they bring a big presence. And just having them here and understanding the offense, and understanding what we’re trying to do, and how they can open up holes now. And what I’m seeing now behind them. I think it’s pretty incredible.”

So the offensive line should yet again be a strength for Texas this season, especially in the ground game.

Then Robinson was asked if he’d ever been with an O-line as big as these guys. His response:

“No. No I have not. You know, now that they’re here; now, I can see it and see what I got in front of me. I like how I can really create space in the backfield and make holes for myself. And make them look good as well. You know, I enjoy it a lot. I think it’s just a blessing that God gave me and this whole team. To have those kind of guys in front of me. So, it’s just really fun to play with them.

Bijan Robinson and his blockers have a good connection with one another on the football field. The big boys are making space for the little guy.
