Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star athlete Joseph Stone is visiting Texas on March 30. The LSU commit announced the news over Twitter on Wednesday.

Stone is the No. 210 overall prospect and No. 12 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in Georgia.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound recruit has been pledged to the Tigers since July 11. He is currently locked in with LSU.

“I am not going to miss out on any opportunity, so I am going to take all of my visits but it will take a lot for someone to flip me,” Stone told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 8. “For me to change my mind, I would have to have that same feeling I have at LSU at another place. That will be hard to match.”

Stone previously told Simmons that he likes LSU’s plan for him. He was back in Baton Rouge on March 10.

“Coach (Brian) Kelly pushes the little things,” Stone told Simmons this summer. “He is about the details. When talking with him, he has talked about learning from mistakes and getting better. …Although he has won all those games, coach Kelly doesn’t talk winning. He talks about what it takes to get there. It is about working together, being on the same page, for the coaches and players to be one accord, and things like that.

“…Coach Kelly has the team working with that mindset. It is about the details for him. He will have LSU playing like the 2019 team soon.”

Regarding Stone’s visit schedule, he has three official visits in mind. According to Billy Embody of the Bengal Tiger, the four-star wants to take officials to Miami, LSU and Oklahoma.

Joseph Stone On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Joseph Stone:

“Versatile athlete who plays a number of positions for perennial Georgia power, Grayson High. Plays quarterback, running back and wide receiver at Grayson. Shows good agility and adequate play speed with the ball in his hands. Has worked out as a wide receiver on the camp circuit, but could also project as a defensive back at the next level. Shows a good feel for working in space as a ball carrier.

“Has grown over an inch since his sophomore year, now checking in around 5-foot-10.5, 180 pounds. Does not have many athletic testing numbers to speak of, and ran track as a sophomore with a personal best of 11.70 seconds in the 100 meters. Has some genuine positional ambiguity that should be hammered out moving forward.”
