Parking boot at the source of Texas receiver Agiye Hall's arrest, report reveals
Texas wide receiver Agiye Hall was arrested on Thursday for the Class B misdemeanor of criminal mischief between $100 and $750. On Friday, the UT police arrest report revealed that the “mischief” Hall reportedly caused was in damages to a vehicle boot. The damage was worth approximately $600, Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman reported.
Coach Steve Sarkisian announced the punishment for Hall on Friday. He is suspended from team activities indefinitely, Sarkisian said in a statement.
“We’re aware of the situation involving Agiye Hall, have talked with his family, and have suspended him from all team activities for conduct that is detrimental to our program,” the statement read.
A video circulating on social media appears to show Hall reading a parking violation on what could be his orange car. The car has a boot on it in the video.
Hall transferred to Texas over the offseason after starting his career at Alabama. Just prior to his decision to enter the transfer portal, Nick Saban suspended Hall for a violation of team rules.
Last year, the wideout appeared in three games and caught four receptions for 72 yards. Alabama made it to the national championship game but fell to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Sarkisian noted growth in Hall last week
Just last week, Steve Sarkisian discussed Hall’s maturity as he made the transition to the Longhorns program.
“I think he’s progressing you know, transition is tough for everybody, I get all that you know,” Sarkisian said. “When you’re a true freshman and you’re thrust into some of the environments and big time games that he was in, and are you prepared? Are you not? So our job as coaches with any player, Agiye is no different than Keilan Robinson or Ryan Watts or anybody that comes into our program, is to try to get them immersed into our culture.
“And then try to develop them on and off the field so they can grow and have an impact on our team, but also kind of grow as a person and man and player, to build their brand and get them to be as close to their potential as progress. He’s got a lot of potential, he’s making progress. Not a finished product, but I don’t expect our guys to be finished products, what I do expect is growth. We’re seeing that.”
