First name you think of when discussing Texas‘ offense is running back Bijan Robinson. He’s in the conversation for best in the country at his position, carrying the Longhorns to a couple of victories early in the season. Now, Robinson is hoping to do the same on Saturday against Texas Tech.

Robinson once again had the ability to show why he’s so highly regarded during the third quarter. Behind the sticks already on a 2nd and 12 play, Sarkisian decided to give the ball to his best player. Eight seconds later, Robinson was in the endzone, extending Texas’ lead.

Tight roping on the sideline, there was only one wimpy tackler Robinson had to shake off. He took it 40 yards for a touchdown, giving the Longhorns a 31-17 lead. Another impressive play to add to the highlight real in Austin.

You can watch the full play here.

Robinson has been reliable all night for head coach Steve Sarkisian, averaging over eight yards per carry. In 11 attempts, the Heisman Trophy hopeful has 89 yards and another touchdown to go along with this one. It’s another multi-touchdown game for Robinson, something that’s becoming regular around Austin.

Outside of Robinson, there has not been much success in the run game for the Longhorns. Roschon Johnson, who is usually a key player as well, has not been effective. Quarterback Hudson Card is the team’s second-leading rusher after making a couple of plays with his feet.

If Texas is going to hang on and win this game, there should be a lot more dosage of Bijan Robinson in the play calling. While he is good enough to move the chains on a consistent basis, there is always a chance one is taken to the house, at any point.
