College basketball programs love to post some of their offseason workout on social media, giving fans a fix during the summer months. Texas decided to do the same on Friday night but added an extra twist in there. Instead of just being in the gym or weight room, the Longhorns decided to play out a skit and have some fun with it.

Before entering the weight rooms, players had to jokingly show their ID to a couple of bouncers blocking the door. Once getting into the “club” and were able to get their lift in, there was even a DJ to provide the music. Some flashing lights really put everything together.

While it may not be a traditional hype video released in the middle of July, it’s one where Texas and the social media department were able to have some fun. At this point in the offseason, there’s not much more you can ask for.

More on Texas, Year Two of Chris Beard

Chris Beard infamously left Texas Tech in order to take the Texas job, with national championship expectations coming immediately. The Longhorns were ranked inside the top five in the preseason poll but ultimately, made the Round of 32 as a six seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Even with a lot of roster turnover, there will still be a ton of hype in Austin for Beard’s second squad. Five-star prospect and the No. 3 player per the On3 Consensus, Dillon Mitchell, will be entering the program. Tyrese Hunter was one of the top players available in the transfer portal as well, with Beard continuing to excel there.

Texas will begin its season on Nov. 7 when UTEP comes to town. Another tough slate is ahead of Beard and the Longhorns, especially in the Big 12.
