Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic four-star EDGE Elijah Rushing has picked up an offer from Texas.

Rushing is the No. 35 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 ranks him as No. 8 prospect in the 2024 On300 ranking, which is highest in the industry.

“Rushing was dominant at times as a sophomore for Salpointe Catholic tallying 75 tackles and 7.5 sacks with a combination of quick feet and quick hands, along with a physical mindset,” On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton said. “The 6-foot-6, 224-pound edge prospect ripped off a 4.48 laser shuttle this spring with 10-inch hands and an 80-inch wingspan.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $81k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Last month, Rushing took visits to FloridaNorthwesternNotre Dame, and Ohio State. The trip to Gainesville, Fla., was particularly meaningful to him as his father played for the Gators in the 1990s.

“This was a big offer for sure,” Rushing told On3. “It is a blessing to be offered by the school my dad played it. It also means a lot because this offer shows me the SEC is taking notice of me more too.”
