Richard Isaacs Jr., a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Las Vegas (Nev.) Coronado has recommitted to Texas Tech basketball for the class of 2022, a source told On3.

Isaacs originally committed to the Red Raiders on September 9th, before deciding to reopen his recruitment earlier this month, on November 3rd. On Sunday, November 14th, Isaacs decided to recommit to Texas Tech.

Isaacs, the No. 63 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, will sign with the Red Raiders tomorrow, November 17th at his high school.

An odd situation

It’s a very rare occurrence for a player to decommit from a school, to only then recommit to that same school just 11 days later.

We don’t actually know what caused Richard Isaacs Jr. to decommit, all we know is that he’s back. BYU, Louisville, Ole Miss, amongst others were interested in the four-star guard before he decided to make the pledge once again to Texas Tech.

Why Texas Tech?

When Isaacs selected the Red Raiders the first time around, he said “I chose Texas Tech because of the trust I have with the staff. They don’t have a point guard right now and they’re going to put the ball in my hands from day one. Also, it was a family environment and it felt like home.”
