After reaching his 200th win at USC on Saturday, coach Andy Enfield wants people to know he is only part of that success. Although the spotlight is on him after the milestone, Enfield made sure to give credit to his players and staff for helping him reach that number.

In his postgame press conference following an 80-74 victory against Washington, Enfield expressed what the achievement means to him and everyone involved.

“That’s a milestone that I didn’t even know until I was reminded yesterday about it,” he said. “Personal milestones are nice, but we’re in this for the program. That just means we’ve had stability over the last 10 years with our coaching staff. I’m very proud of our assistant coaches and everybody that’s worked so hard to give us a chance to win on a daily and weekly basis.

“And our players. I’ve had a lot of good players here as a head coach. We’ve recruited players that developed and they’ve been very successful moving on either to the NBA or on in life. Some of the guys are overseas playing basketball.”

Enfield is in his 10th season as the head coach at USC. Associate head coach Chris Capko has been with him for seven of those seasons, while strength and conditioning coach Kurtis Schultz has enjoyed six years as a member of the staff.

Seven players who played for Enfield at USC went on to enjoy NBA careers, including Cleveland Cavaliers big man Evan Mobley. Mobley’s father, Eric, is still on the Trojans staff as an assistant coach.

With his 200th win, Andy Enfield ranks fourth in program history. He is 16 more victories away from moving into third place and 61 wins behind Sam Barry, who is USC’s winningest coach. The Trojans have made four NCAA Tournament appearances under Enfield and even advanced to the Elite Eight in 2021.

“To have 200 wins at one school, we’re very proud of that stability,” Enfield said. “But this is something I share with our players and our staff. When I think of that, I think of all the great people we’ve had here at USC. I hope there’s many more, but certainly proud of what we’ve done.”

USC is 17-6 so far this season and hoping for its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Trojans are currently projected as a 10 seed according to ESPN expert Joe Lunardi’s latest predictions. Coming off the big milestone, Enfield will next lead his team into a matchup against Oregon at 8 p.m. PT on Thursday in Eugene.
