Former Oklahoma Sooners star wide receiver Mario Williams just made a huge announcement, revealing his transfer destination. Williams will be playing college football next season for the USC Trojans.

Williams’ decision to transfer to USC comes after the Trojans hired head coach Lincoln Riley away from Oklahoma. Now, the two will reunite and Williams will look to build upon a successful first season of college football.

As a true freshman this season at Oklahoma, Williams caught 35 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns. He had his best game of the season in a win over Texas Tech in late December, hauling in five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown.

With Williams now committed to USC, the attention now turns to his former teammate, quarterback Caleb Williams, who is also in the transfer portal.

USC also announced the addition of Williams on Saturday afternoon.

Williams was a very highly touted prospect coming out of high school. He was rated as a four-star recruit, the 35th overall prospect, and the third wide receiver in the 2021 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Another former Oklahoma star could soon be following with a USC commitment

One of the biggest storylines of the offseason has been Caleb Williams and his decision to enter the transfer portal. The former Oklahoma star quarterback unseated preseason Heisman favorite Spencer Rattler midway through the season.

But after Lincoln Riley was hired by USC, speculation ran wild about Williams’ future. Eventually, Williams opted to enter the transfer portal, as did a number of Oklahoma players. A few former Sooners have already followed Riley to USC, and Caleb Williams could be next.

Caleb Williams is rumored to be interested in USC and UCLA, among others. Reuniting with Riley makes a ton of sense, especially now that one of his top wideouts would be there with him.

As for Mario Williams, he is looking for continuity, at least when it comes to his coaching staff. He was recruited by Lincoln Riley, committed to Lincoln Riley, and has now transferred to play for him again in Southern California.
