Kahuku (Hawai’i) linebacker Liona Lefau picked up an offer from USC and new defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, he announced Monday.

Lefau is the No. 273 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 24 linebacker and the No. 3 prospect in Hawai’i.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder already holds more than a dozen offers, including Arizona State, Maryland, Michigan, Oregon, Texas and others.

USC currently has the No. 2 class in 2023, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Following head coach Lincoln Riley‘s move from Oklahoma to USC, the Trojans flipped Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson and top-40 wide receiver Makai Lemon. Five-star wideout Zachariah Branch gave Riley and Co. their third commitment since coming to Los Angeles when he committed to Christmas Eve.

The Trojans don’t currently have any defensive prospects committed in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
