Just minutes after his high school teammate Kevin Green decommitted from USC, four-star cornerback Ephesians Prysock did so himself.

The Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany product announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon that was reopening his recruitment immediately.

“First off, I want to thank Coach Donte (Williams) and the entire USC staff for giving me a chance to a part of the Trojan family,” Prysock wrote. “After a long talk with my family, I have decided it would be best for me to de-commit from USC and open up my recruitment!!”

The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder is the No. 246 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 27 cornerback and the No. 22 prospect in California.

Prysock chose the Trojans in September over offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, Cal and others. He pledged to the Trojans despite USC’s firing of head coach Clay Helton just days earlier.

“We discussed what was stopping me from committing during the week, and there wasn’t really a valid reason for stopping me,” Prysock said at the time.“So, I decided to announce my commitment after Donte’s first win to make it look good for him, too.”

Ephesians Prysock is USC’s third decommit today

Prysock backing off his commitment means the Trojans have lost three commitments in one day and now have just five players pledged for the 2022 recruiting class. Forty-five minutes earlier, Green, who is Prysock’s teammate at Bishop Alemany, announced he would be reopening his recruitment, too. USC’s 2022 class now ranks No. 61 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
