On3 Consensus five-star interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell of Arlington (Texas) Bowie will make an official visit to USC next weekend.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound athletic lineman has made two visits to USC previously, including an official visit in June. Due to the NCAA rule regarding the change of head coaches, a prospect can make a second official visit to the same school.

Devon Campbell, the No. 9 ranked prospect in the On3 Consensus, came to the decision to make an official visit this weekend to USC following a Saturday in-home visit by new head coach Lincoln Riley

Riley and Bill Bedenbaugh had the Oklahoma Sooners very much in the mix prior to Riley taking the USC job. One question Campbell needs answered is who will be the USC offensive line coach should Bedenbaugh not go to USC.

Texas and Alabama are considered the main competition for the Trojans. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is making an in-home visit with Devon Campbell and family on Wednesday or Thursday.

Devon Campbell also considered making a final official visit to LSU and Georgia before ultimately deciding on USC.

The five-star guard prospect announces his decision during the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 2. But those plans could be pushed back to February should Campbell not be in a place to make a decision.

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Campbell is also the top IOL in the country and the third-ranked player in Texas.

Devon Campbell was originally planning on playing defensive line in college. But his high school coaches encouraged him to make the switch to the offensive line. The move was done to “improve his chances of playing in the NFL.”
