Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle four-star offensive lineman Elijah Paige decommitted from Notre Dame on Wednesday after pledging to the Fighting Irish in June.

Less than 96 hours later, a new team is trending in the race to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Following a trio of expert picks, USC is now considered the heavy favorite to land Paige, the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Arizona.

Paige originally committed to Notre Dame June 10 — a few days after officially visiting campus — picking the Irish over likes of UCLA, USC, Michigan State, Washington and Miami. He was expected to officially visit USC the following week, but chose to cancel that trip after his commitment.

The Trojans currently have just one offensive tackle prospect in their class thus far — Ventura (Calif.) three-star Tobias Raymond — but also have three interior offensive linemen committed this cycle.

Elijah Paige is the No. 352 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 23 offensive tackle.

The 6-foot-6, 307-pounder is also a high school teammate of five-star tight end Duce Robinson, who the Trojans are currently considered to be in the lead for by the On3 RPM.
