USC has extended an offer to Duncanville (Texas) four-star linebacker Colin Simmons, one of the top players in the 2024 cycle.

Simmons is the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Miami Columbus four-star linebacker TJ Capers and Jefferson (Ga.) four-star linebacker Sammy Brown are the only two linebackers ranked ahead of him in the On3 Consensus.

Simmons also earned an offer from Michigan on Thursday.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $124k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Simmons recently told On3’s Joseph Hastings that Oklahoma and Texas A&M are the early leaders in his recruitment.

“Right now, OU and Texas A&M are standing out,” Simmons said. “They’re really big recruitment-wise. They’re the unofficial top two.”

That plays out in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, where the Sooners have a big lead in Simmons’ recruitment

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
