Lincoln Riley shares initial thoughts on USC Trojans spring game

Lincoln Riley got his first action of on the field action wrapped up on Saturday during the USC Trojans annual spring game. Following the spring game, Riley addressed his initial takeaways and evaluation of USC’s performance.

Overall, Riley was thrilled with what he saw across the board on Saturday. He thought the game was reflective of all of the hard work USC has put in throughout the spring, and he was glad to be able to do that in front of a large crowd.

“Great, great day,” Riley said. “A lot of work to this day by a lot of people. Four, four and a half months ago where this team, was, the team just made improvement together. Roster put together, simply to staff, a fan base I think was hungry for some real momentum. And today was a great example. I think the progress has been made in a really short time. A lot of hard work on people within the walls of our football program, every single person.

“Hard work by administration to help create a great atmosphere today, and then our fans responded. They told me it was the highest attended spring game in the history of this program. So it’s pretty cool, I appreciate our fans. A fun experience, a really fun day. I thought the day was very representative of how the entire spring has gone. Pretty physical on both sides of the football. Some big plays on both sides. Typically, something didn’t go their way, tend to rebound.”

There is a ton of excitement surrounding the 2022 USC Trojans but expectations are higher than ever.
