Many (La.) four-star linebacker Tackett Curtis showed Friday night that he is a player to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the ball. As New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback and Texas commit Arch Manning sent a short pass to his teammate, Curtis picked up the route.

He then made a huge hit on the Isidore Newman receiver. Curtis celebrated with his teammates following the play. Many eventually defeated Isidore Newman 25-17.

Curtis is the No. 99 overall prospect and No. 8 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 6 player from Louisiana.

The 6-foot-2.5, 220 pound prospect chose the Trojans on July 18. He is one of five top-100 prospects in USC’s 2023 recruiting class

The Trojans’ group ranks No. 14 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Pac-12. USC’s top recruit is Los Alamitos (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson, the No. 3 player in the On3 Consensus. Other top-100 recruits committed to USC include Las Vegas Bishop Gorman Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Zachariah Branch and Los Alamitos (Calif.) four-star wide receiver Makai Lemon.

Curtis has an On3 NIL Valuation of $135K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
