Prattville (Ala.) Montgomery Catholic Preparatory three-star tight end Josh Palmer has announced his commitment to Vanderbilt. He chose the Commodores over offers from Nebraska and South Carolina among others.

Palmer is the No. 1,433 overall prospect and No. 68 tight end in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 56 player in Alabama.

On3 rates Palmer higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he is not ranked in the 2023 On300, he is the No. 60 tight end in the country and No. 47 player in Alabama.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound pass catcher is one of two tight ends in Vanderbilt’s 2023 recruiting class. Theodore (Ala.) three-star Kamrean Johnson chose the Commodores on Aug. 4.

Palmer has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
