Smyrna (Tenn.) running back Arion Carter received an offer from Vanderbilt on Wednesday night. The Memphis commit announced the news on social media.

Carter is not ranked in the 2023 On3 Consensus or the 2023 On300. He has been committed to the Tigers since July 20.

The Commodores are the second Power Five offer for the 6-foot-1, 205 pound running back. Carter also has one from Wake Forest.

Vanderbilt currently has a commitment from one running back in Austin (Texas) LBJ three-star Sedrick Alexander. The Commodores’ 2023 recruiting class is No. 48 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 13 in the SEC.

Vanderbilt’s group contains 15 prospects and is composed of one four-star, 12 three-stars and two unranked recruits. The Commodores’ highest-ranked-player is Rome (Ga.) four-star cornerback Martel Hight, the No. 336 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus. According to the Industry Comparison, On3 rates Hight higher than other recruiting services as the No. 223 overall prospect in the 2023 On300.

Carter has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
