2023 offensive lineman Lance Williams commits to Virginia Tech

Alcoa (Tenn.) offensive lineman Lance Williams has committed to Virginia Tech, he announced Monday at a ceremony at his school.

He is unranked in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. However, the Industry Comparison Tool shows that Williams is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports and Rivals.

He is the first commit in the 2023 class for the Hokies.

Williams was named the 2021 Region 2-3A Lineman of the Year in Tennessee.

The 2022 class ranked 38th in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with 24 commits, two of whom were four-star players. Daleville (Va.) Lord Botetourt four-star offensive lineman Gunner Givens was the top signee in the class.
