Virginia Tech forward Justyn Mutts is one of the most complete players at his position in all of college basketball. It’s easy to see how complete his game is each and every night he sets foot out on the basketball court. And Hokies’ head coach Mike Young utilizes his wide variety of skills extremely well. Mutts recently accomplished something only one other active player in college basketball has done: score 1,500 points, grab 1,000 career rebounds, and 400 career assists.

Check out the impressive stats posted below by the Virginia Tech men’s basketball Twitter page.

This season, Mutts has filled the stat sheet with 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He’s one of the most complete forwards in the country and he’s got the stats to prove it. In the Hokies’ recent 71-54 whipping of the Louisville Cardinals, Mutts delivered a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. With the win, Virginia Tech stopped their recent two-game losing streak.

Before Virginia Tech, Mutts spent time with Delaware and High Point. In 33 games with the Blue Hens, he averaged 12.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. In 28 appearances his freshman season at High Point, Mutts earned Big South All-Freshman honors. He led the team in blocks with 32 and ranked second on the team in steals with 30.

Next up for Virginia Tech, they’ll face the Florida State Seminoles on March 4th. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. EST. In order to make the NCAA Tournament, the Hokies will need to win the upcoming ACC Tournament, which will be played March 7-11 in Greensboro, North Carolina in the Greensboro Coliseum. Virginia Tech has played some impressive basketball in numerous games this season, so it wouldn’t be surprising to pull off yet another magical run.
