Zachary (La.) four-star EDGE Ashley Williams received an offer from Washington on Sunday night. He announced the news on social media, just hours after decommitting from Nebraska.

Williams is the No. 372 overall prospect and No. 40 EDGE in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks him even higher as the No. 274 overall prospect and No. 34 EDGE in the 2023 On300.

The 6-foot-4, 215 pound prospect currently holds 20 offers from programs including Auburn, Michigan and Texas. He has taken five total visits during his recruitment, including a June 30 unofficial visit to the Tigers.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn has a commanding lead to Williams’ commitment at 79.6%. Nebraska has the next-best odds at 19.2%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Williams has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.7K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Ashley Williams On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Ashley Williams:

“State champion edge rusher for Zachary (LA) as a junior who wins with burst, bend and the ability to close on ball carriers. Stands in at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with a 6-foot-5 wingspan. Lacks ideal NFL length off the edge. Body type is narrow and will struggle to add substantial weight for the next level but not impossible. Likely to end up at stand-up backer than a true defensive end. Explosive and plays with tremendous leverage. Plays very low to the ground and gets underneath offensive linemen with ease. Ran an electronically-timed 4.87 40-yard dash and 7.52 3-cone drill during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Jumped a 27-inch vertical and a 9-foot-6 broad jump during the same circuit. Has the athletic ability and bend to excel at the next level. His ability to maintain movement skills while attempting to add weight will determine his ceiling. Early impact player at the next level as a situational pass rusher with a chance for role expansion pending on physical growth.”
