Sean McNeil – a former guard at West Virginia who recently entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal – is reportedly scheduling visits to his top schools, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Per Rothstein, McNeil – a Union, Kentucky native – has scheduled visits at Virginia next Monday and Tuesday and Cincinnati on Thursday. The guard said that he also plans to visit Louisville, Indiana and Ohio State soon.

McNeil recently released a list of his top six schools, which included Ohio State, Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati, Indiana and Texas Tech.

McNeil started the last two years for West Virginia and put up some good minutes for Bob Huggins. This past year, he averaged 12.2 points and 2.5 rebounds in 33.6 minutes per game in 32 games for the Mountaineers. He also shot 41.4% from the floor, including 36.8% from three-point territory. He entered the portal March 28.

Report: McNeil narrows down list of schools

A decision could be coming for West Virginia transfer Sean McNeil.

McNeil recently told CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein that he has narrowed down his list of schools to six with Ohio State, Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati, Indiana and Texas Tech are all in the running for the former Mountaineers guard.

McNeil, who’ll have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer, garnered plenty of high-major interest on the recruiting trail. On3’s Jamie Shaw reported plenty of other big names in on him shortly after he entered the transfer portal, including ClemsonOklahoma State and TCU. Now, the list is down to six.

West Virginia had a rough go in 2021-22, going 16-17 overall and 4-14 in Big 12 action. The Mountaineers missed out on the postseason for the first time since 2012-13. Of course, the NCAA canceled postseason tournaments in 2019-20, but West Virginia had a chance of making it to the NCAA Tournament that year.
