Class of 2023 four-star prospect Trey Green has committed to Xavier, he told On3.

The 5-foot-10 point guard of Branson (Mo.) Link Academy ultimately chose the Musketeers over Virginia, LSU, VCU, and Miami. He also received offers from Cincinnati, Clemson, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, and others.

Green, a native of Mooresville, N.C., is the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 17 point guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri.

On3’s evaluators are much higher than the industry on Green, ranking him 65th nationally in the class.

Green recently led his Mokan Elite (KS) squad to a Peach Jam title on the EYBL Circuit. Over the course of the summer, Green averaged 11.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He also shot 53 percent from the field, 49 percent from three, and 83 percent from the free throw line.

Green on his commitment to Xavier

“The reason I chose Xavier is because of the coaching staff,” Green said to On3. “Coach Sean Miller is a great coach. Coach (Adam) Cohen is also a great coach, coach (Dante) Jackson and all those guys. They all show me love. The Big East is a guard conference I feel like with Villanova, UConn, and all those big time schools.

“I feel like Xavier is a great fit for me with the way they play, fast-paced. Coach Sean Miller produces guards.”

What type of play is Xavier getting in Trey Green?

“The program is going to get a grimy guard, that’s going to do whatever it takes to win. I can shoot the ball at a high clip, defend at a high level, and will lead the team to victories.”

Green has a message for Xavier fan base.

“I’m coming. Cincinnati is home to me and I’ll do whatever it takes to win for Xavier.”

Scouting Summary

“Trey Green is a feisty point guard who simply produces. He comes by it honestly as his father, David Green, was a D-I quarterback who threw for over 1,500 yards at Duke. Trey has a tight handle and likes to play aggressively downhill. While on the small side, he plays a fearless style of on-ball defense. Green is a smooth shooter with deep range. He has good footwork on both ends of the floor. Green can get tunnel vision at times, but he has done an excellent job of learning how to run a high-level team this season. The college that goes in on Green will have to like smaller guards, but there is a lot of fight and skill in this one.”
