Personal Life
Bentlee Sanders spent his entire life in Tampa, going to Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Catholic and then to USF. But when he graduated, Sanders wanted something new. “I needed to get out of there,” Sanders told Nevada Sports Net. So Sanders entered the transfer portal and landed at Nevada. At USF, he played safety and nickel back while also returning kicks. Sanders earned his degree in integrated public relations and advertising from USF. He is the son of Sally and Gregory Sanders. He has three sisters named Shai, Ava and Elese. His sister Elese died by suicide when Sanders was in high school, and Nevada wore a ribbon decal on its helmet during the 2021 season opener to honor her.
