A two-sport star at Walker High School, Brian Thomas Jr. was the fourth-ranked recruit overall in the 2021 recruiting class in Louisiana. Thomas caught 30 passes for 507 yards and seven TDs in 2020. On the basketball court as a freshman, helped Walker to a 33-4 mark and the 2018 5A championship, the first in school history. Thomas was also named the most outstanding player in state title game in 2018 after scoring 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds in win over Landry-Walker. Thomas finished his high school basketball career with more than 1,000 points in each of his three seasons. Thomas made a quick transition to LSU, where he started nine games – the most of any true freshman on the team in 2021. He caught 28 passes for 359 yards and two scores. He appeared in 13 games and started six in the 2022 season, finishing with 361 receiving yards and five scores. During the 2023 season, he emerged as one of college football's top playmakers. “Football, to me, is bigger than a sport,” Thomas said. “It’s something that I love to do, and it’s been there for me. If I’m going through something, going out to practice, I get to clear my mind. I’ve always loved football the most.”
