As a College Recruit

The next man up at the St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) defensive back factory who can play center field, deep half, man coverage and walk down in the box. Good looking build and frame that can put on an easy 10 to 15 pounds. Measures in at 6-foot-1.5, 190 pounds with a 6-foot-3.5 wingspan. Explosive player whose athletic ability shines on tape. Jumped nearly a 26-inch vertical during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior year. Ran 10.90 in the 100m, 23.05 in the 200m and jumped a 21-foot-2 long jump during his junior track and field campaign. Ball skills are apparent on film. Recorded 4 interceptions during his state championship winning junior season. Does an excellent job of playing through receivers hands at the catch point. Fluid hips and sideline to sideline speed allow him to cover every blade of grass on the field. Much more comfortable in space than in the box, but is a willing tackler. Extremely high ceiling and upside. Will rise up draft boards if he can become more efficient in the run game.

Conrad Hussey makes move into On300

Charles Power

Conrad Hussey moved into the On300 on the heels of a strong showing at Overtime’s OT7 7-on-7 tournament along with a good track season. The 6-foot, 180-pounder was an interception machine at OT7 while manning up on top receivers at cornerback. Hussey also posed several good track times during the spring, cracking the sub 11.0 second mark in the 100 meters. The strong off-season buoys a good junior season at powerhouse Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas that saw Hussey pick off four passes for the state champions. He’s joined in Penn State’s class by high school teammate King Mack, who was one of the biggest upward movers in the On300 update.

Conrad Hussey turns in strong showing at Overtime OT7

Charles Power

Penn State commit Conrad Hussey was the top defender on a Defcon team that made some noise at OT7. Hussey projects as a safety long-term but was manning an outside corner spot and had some strong moments against top receivers. We saw Hussey lock horns with top 50 receiver Noah Rogers in coverage on Saturday and fare relatively well. The Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back made a bunch of plays on the ball and came down with several interceptions over the course of the weekend. His showing as a cover corner in the 7-on-7 setting is encouraging relative to his long-term projection.
