As a College Recruit

Basketball player who came back to football after not playing as a sophomore. Held offers on the hardwood prior to blossoming as a football recruit. Pairs advanced coordination and ball skills with forward length. A natural hands catcher who can climb the ladder to high-point the ball in contested situations. Runs fairly well, but his strength is in the catching ability. Primarily plays split out for one of the top high school teams in Georgia. Will need ton continue progressing from a strength standpoint in addition to working on blocking technique should he eventually line up in-line at the next level.

Ethan Davis' physical tools and ability as a pass catcher, particularly over the middle of the field reminds us of Jermichael Finley. Both Davis and Finley played basketball in high school, with Davis being a star on the hardwood.

Ethan Davis the top tight end at Overtime OT7

Charles Power

Ethan Davis had a number of flash moments on Friday and looked like the biggest mismatch among tight ends on hand at Overtime OT7. The Tennessee pledge elevated to come down with a touchdown in the back of the end zone and later came down with an impressive grab on a back shoulder route. Davis’ play was a highlight for the Trillion Boys squad. His basketball background is apparent in the movement and ball skills. Davis has some shake within his routes and is a natural at the catch point.

Ethan Davis top performer at OT7

Davis saw his stock rise in a major way this offseason leading to a thrilling performance for Trillion Boys at OT7. The uber-athletic Tennessee commitment is a special athlete in a 6-foot-5, 220-pound frame and is shaping up to be another converted basketball player that can dominate down the seams and near the end zone. Davis was gliding downfield and snatched a few passes in mid-air with ease, and it seems as if he’s just scratching the surface.
